This week marked the double digit countdown to wedding day. 94 days! I have yet to share a wedding planning “official’ update on the blog so I thought it would be a fun to share today!
Invitations: I just finalized these today! I am sooooooo thrilled with how they came out and I can’t wait to share the suite post-wedding! I am also designing monogrammed thank you notes for the wedding so Sean and I can begin write thank you cards ASAP!
Food + Venue: we booked our venue January 2018 which is soo crazy! We did our tasting and detail appointment in April of this year and before then, really didn’t have too much to do. We picked our meal choices at our tasting and lots of delicious apps! There will be a lot of seafood choices! Rhode Island has a lot of local seafood so all the food is locally sourced + delicious! We are also doing a non-traditional cake which I am SO excited about! Our detail appointment went through EVERYTHING from cake cutter to timeline of the ceremony, and I have to say it was a bit overwhelming!
Ceremony: We just started the conversation about ceremony details today! I read the script and was bawling lol. The script didn’t even include the vows which we are planning to write our own. Our ceremony will take place outside at our venue. We made the decision as a couple to not get married in a church. Yes, it has been a point of contention. To be honest, Sean and I just don’t feel a strong connection to religion and didn’t find it the right fit for us to do a traditional mass.
Wedding Party: the bridesmaids have their dresses, and now it’s time for us to find the men’s tux! Initially, I was thinking realllllly casual with the guys attire- like khaki’s and a blazer. I decided this idea is too casual, especially after I picked out my dress! So, I changed my mind haha. Sean is not happy!

Decor: I am working with a close family friend on the decor-lighting, draping, etc! I really don’t need to much here and fully letting her take the reins. Same with flowers-Sandra will be doing them all! I totally trust both of them with design so some elements will be a surprise outside of the vision board and details we’ve discussed!
Vendors: As I mentioned in this post, I hired a wedding/day of coordinator! She is helping me organize the timeline and various vendors! I have photo and video, transporation for guests, a band, hair, makeup… the list goes on! I also have a few surprise vendors that I can’t reveal until after wedding day!

This week I completed a lot of “fun” wedding tasks: honeymoon planning, finished our registry, got our rings, and started planning day-of gift ideas! I’m also doing my makeup trial this week or next! I’d love to hear ANY of your wedding planning tips-share them in the comments! I hope that was a fun update and can’t wait to share more details as they unfold!
