Trying on wedding dresses is something I have dreamed about my ENTIRE life, and I am so excited to give you the details about my experience at David’s Bridal today!
When I say I’ve “dreamed” about finding the “perfect” wedding dress, I mean I have imagined the giddy, excited, I-feel-like-a-princess feeling of finding “the one.” To be honest-I have never had my mind set on one style! I went to David’s Bridal as an open book and was beyond impressed with the service, selection, and overall positive and fun experience I had trying on dresses on a rainy Friday afternoon!
Let’s be honest-walking in to shop for your wedding dress or even to try on bridesmaid dresses is a little overwhelming! As soon as I arrived to David’s Bridal for my appointment the consultants made me feel comfortable and excited to start looking through the racks of dresses.
My consultant asked me questions of what I like, don’t like, if I had an inspiration pictures, or had tried on dresses before. As someone that tends to know more of what I DON’T like than what I do, I decided to not dismiss any style without trying it on first. My consultant encouraged that approach because you truly don’t know what you love until you try it on-and I can totally say the same thing for myself and my experience. I am SO glad I had an open mind because I was surprised by some styles I loved (ballgowns) vs. what I didn’t love as much as I thought I would (mermaids).
We walked through the selection of designers including WHITE x Vera Wang, Galina, Truly Zac Posen, Melissa Sweet, Oleg Cassini, and the store’s own David’s Bridal Collection. The assortment of dresses from these collections are exclusive to David’s Bridal so they can’t be found anywhere else! I pulled what I liked and made sure to try on a dress from every designer and of every style. I was immediately impressed with the variety of price points and affordability of gowns without compromising quality.
With the help of my consultant, we pulled about 5-6 dresses-some she picked based on what she was seeing me drawn to, and some I picked! When I was ready to start trying on dresses we went with the one we thought would be a “wow,” first! The stylist accommodated every need in the try-on process-she helped me clip the gown when needed, accessorize, offered a strapless bra, earrings, veil, etc.! The stylists in the store were happy to offer their opinions and recommendations and were able to answer every question we had from how to hem a particular dress, to which undergarments to wear with different styles, and how to best accessorize or style hair depending on the dress style!
This dress is under $400 and I am SO in love! The style is flattering for so many body types. This dress, along with most of the others I tried on, is available in sizes 0-30. Many dresses are also available in petite sizing and extra length! I love this dress so much I may bring it on my honeymoon!
I didn’t have my bridesmaids with me for this appointment, but I can totally see us coming back to shop for bridesmaid dresses. David’s Bridal has bridesmaid dresses in over 50 colors, sizes 0-30 and the prices start under $100. They also have mother of the bride/groom dresses as well as flower girl dresses. I also love that they offer in-house alterations so that the whole wedding party can get their dresses tailored at the same place.
I loved more than one of the dresses I tried on, so my consultant provided me a list of all the styles and sizes I tried on so I could come back with my mom to get her “yes!” Overall, I am so impressed with my experience at David’s Bridal. The consultants made the experience fun, exciting, and they were both knowledgeable and accommodating! I felt like a valued customer and I wasn’t rushed or pushed. If you do not know where to begin shopping for your wedding gown, bridesmaid dress, or dress for your wedding party, I highly recommend starting with David’s Bridal.
