Hi babes, hope you’re having a great week! I’ve mentioned before that I’m a skincare newbie (I hate to admit it, but it’s true)! The year 2018 involved testing a lot of products and brands to find out which ones worked best for my skin. I think the reason I have shied away from trying different products and learning about skincare up until now is because there are SO many products on the market, and it’s honestly overwhelming to even know where to begin! Also, let’s not talk about how many times I’ve bought a quality (i.e. EXPENSIVE) product and didn’t like it, which is painfully wasteful. Does any of that sound familiar? If so: no need to panic because I’ve got your back! Today I’m sharing some of my favorite products I’ve tried for the most sensitive area on your face-your eyes!
Best Eye Cream:
I wish I took a photo to show the “before” and “after” using the VIICode T2 Oxyen Eye Cream (pronounced vee-too-code). When I touched my eye the other day, I couldn’t believe the difference in firmness and texture of the skin around my eyes. The skin has significantly less fine lines and is less “crepe-y.” I start with massaging the skin around my eye with the crescent activation strip, and then dab a tiny bit to the skin around my eyes both morning and night. It is light, fragrance and residue-free, and does not irritate my skin or eyes in any way. Some of the main ingredients in the T2 Oxygen Eye Cream includes: Elderberry, Jojoba Oil, and Evening Primrose.

Best Eye Mask:
I went in to depth about my experience with these masks in this post, but they are worth mentioning again because they are just that good! I am not a big fan of masks, but these VIICode O2M Oxygen Eye Masks are so soothing to wear overnight that I look forward to putting them on before bed. Wake up in the morning to refreshed and re-hydrated skin.
Best Makeup Remover:
For whatever reason, despite hearing how amazing Coconut Oil is for removing makeup, I didn’t try it until this week. Forget store bought, oily, chemical-filled products. Just grab a jar of coconut oil at Trader Joe’s and use next time you have a full face (skin, eyes, everything) full of makeup. Not only is your skin left feeling hydrated and smelling lightly of coconut, but there is very little to no makeup left the next day.
Not exactly in the category of “skincare,” but the Two Faced Better than Sex Mascara is worth the mention. I’ve tried a countless number of mascara’s and finally found one that I love! No flakes, clumps, and gives lashes serious volume. I like to start with a coat of L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara Base (thank you to the beauty blogger queen Emily Ann Gemma for the primer rec)!

Best Eyeshadow Palette:
I’ve also mentioned this palette before, but it’s still a tried and true favorite. This Jaclyn Hill Eyeshadow Palette has the most rich colors that blend so easily! I am nowehere near a makeup expert, but this palette makes it easy to combine colors and blend. I didn’t know there were a few new palettes in this line, too-I am definitely going to try this palette called Ring the Alarm next for a color refresh (also makes for a great stocking stuffer at just $15)!
Now that I’ve found products that work for my skin and actually show visible improvement, I am much more confident in my eyecare routine! Like I said before, navigating the beauty market can be both overwhelming and intimidating, so I hope this post helps give you a starting point and saves some stress and dollars in your hunt for the best products! Would love to chat further about your skincare needs!
