Sometimes all you need is a little R&R to feel energized, motivated, and refreshed. I was in Aruba last week and between creating content (Flamingo blog coming soon!), I’ve actually had some time to check out and relax. If you’ve been following along for a while, you know in 2018 I made huge career moves. Read more about that here. I was employed full-time and I cut back to employed part-time in August 2018. In November, I made the jump to full-time entrepreneur-aka unemployed, no benefits, no salary-NADA. Although incredibly stressful (hello, no paycheck), it has, so far, been a ride in the right direction.

Today, I’m sharing the mindset goals I’ve made to set myself up for a successful and healthy 2019. Getting away for a bit really helped me refocus! When I quit my job and started working for myself, I didn’t realize how much work I would have to do on my mind. It’s harder work than the business itself. If you’re your own boss babe (YAS), or just dreaming about your next move-I hope these goals help you shape your journey and get in the right headspace to do so!
Quality over quantity: In relationships, food, possessions, clothing, time-everything. Instagram exposes you to the “must have now” lifestyle that just. isn’t. real. In 2019 I am determined to keep a clear head to keep myself sane. I want to only buy and build my brand around what we NEED vs. the 130th new top. Just being honest-if you disagree and want 130 new tops, that’s okay 🙂
Intentional over Mindless: Towards the end of 2018, I spent so many days questioning where my time went. I was perpetually 10-15 minutes late. Always feeling like I never got anything accomplished. I honestly felt like a hamster on a wheel. Stuck in habits of mindlessness (hello, scrolling the feed and watching stories). This year, I am making a conscious effort to be more in tune to how I spend my time.
Abundance over Scarcity: This one is deeply rooted in me that it deserves its own blog post. I admittedly am struggling with this one. I am just beginning to be conscious to the “scarcity” mindset. Quitting my job, planning a wedding and starting a business has propelled “there will never be enough” mindset. What you believe is truly what you will achieve, so I am actively working on this every. single. day.
Trust over Questioning: I’ve made mistakes in my life, haven’t we all? However, I have never made a mistake or followed a path that has led to complete chaos or destruction. Trusting my gut, my decisions, my path, and the PROCESS is so difficult. There really is never an “end” to the tunnel. There is a “look back and see how far I’ve come.” These are the moments I plan to focus on in 2019.
In reading this back, I can definitely see how hard I am on myself. It’s true! I am. Are you nodding in agreement? My biggest takeaway on this journey is to be okay with being a work in progress. Perfection does not exist and it certainly does not come overnight. If you’re out there working hard, treating your mind and body right, and committing yourself to your higher goals-you WILL succeed. You already are a success.
When you think about 2019, what are the biggest goals you have set for yourself?
